Rob McGrigor is a founding Partner of Kinetix Corporate Finance.
Rob has extensive commercial experience in the energy and waste sectors and is an FCA with the ICAEW having qualified in 1991.
After graduating with a degree in Geology/Geography from the University of St Andrews he spent 8 years in the Energy, Infrastructure and Utilities Group of Arthur Andersen (now Deloitte). In 1996 he was recruited by LASMO plc (an FTSE100 oil and gas exploration and production company) ultimately becoming Group Financial Controller.
In 2001 he became Group Finance Director of an acquisitive venture-capital backed service company until facilitating its sale in 2003. In 2004 he was central to the preparation and marketing for AIM flotation of a wind and biomass energy company.
Rob subsequently spent 6 years as Finance Director for Agrivert Ltd, the organic waste recycling specialist and anaerobic digestion developer and operator, prior to its sale to Severn Trent. He was involved in the winning of substantial new contracts and the development of waste recycling and anaerobic digestion facilities. In particular, he was responsible for the raising of substantial funding during the credit crisis from a variety of sources including government grants, joint venture partners, project finance and private equity.
In July 2010 he left to found Kinetix with David Armfield and has since led a variety of fund raising and M&A transactions across multiple industries. Having worked for a considerable part of his career on the client side of corporate finance transactions, Rob additionally contributes a highly hands-on and commercial perspective to transaction management with a strong understanding of the client's likely internal challenges and constraints.
